Robert H. Mahler

Robert H. Mahler, 79, of Galion died Monday, Sept. 17, 2007 at home after a six month illness.
Born Apr. 14, 1928 in Galion, he was the son of the late Herman and Marie Barz Mahler. He married Iva L. Baker Mahler on July 8, 1962 and she survives.
He was a graduate of Galion High School in 1946 and Allied Institute of Technology in Chicago, with a Bachelor of Tool Engineering Degree in 1956.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving from 1950 to 1952. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he was a part of the church council and church dart ball. Also he was a member of Polk Township Zoning Commission, Liederkranz Club in Mansfield, American Legion Scarbrough Post 243, Galion Historical Society and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
He worked as an engineer for 36 years at General Motors.
Surviving are his two daughters and a son-in-law, Denise and Heath Mullins and Kim Mahler, all of Mansfield; one son, Roger Mahler of Galion; two grandchildren, Carson and Paige Mullins and one brother, Paul Mahler of Galion.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Gary Nuss officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Full military graveside services will be held by the Galion/Crestline area veterans organizations and the U. S. Army.
