Robert E. Wright, 62, of Galion, died Monday, Nov. 3, 2008 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, a sudden illness.

Born June 24, 1946 in Galion, he is survived by his wife, Sandra L. Baldwin Wright, whom he married June 19, 1964 and his parents, Robert L. and Ireda Lankford Wright of Galion.

A graduate of Galion High School in 1964, Bob also graduated from the World Wide College of Auctioneering in Mason City, Iowa and the School of Real Estate.

Bob was a U. S. Army Vietnam veteran and a member of Galion Elks Lodge 1191. He served on the Crawford County Fair Board for 18 years and on the Mansfield Board of Realtors. Known throughout the area as “Mr. Buckeye”, he was a huge Ohio State University Buckeye fan and collector. He was a proud member of The Ohio State University Boosters Club, Ohio State University Band Club and the Marion OSU Alumni Club.

Bob worked as an Auctioneer and Realtor in the Galion area for over 30 years, starting with Fred Barr Realty Co. and currently working with Craig Miley Realty and Auction.

Surviving, in addition to his wife and parents, are one son and daughter-in-law, Rob and Tamara Wright of Galion; one granddaughter, Paige Wright; three step-grandchildren, Kimber, Brooke and Morgan Pesnell; one brother and sister-in-law, Harvey and Lynn Wright of Kansas City, Ks. and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Becky and Dave Monroe of Martel and Patty and Dean Alexander of Galion.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Stacey Lynn Wright Smith.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7, 2008 at Gospel Baptist Church with Rev. Monty Trammel and Rev. Samuel J. Buehrer officiating. As a tribute to Bob, all are encouraged to wear their OSU attire to the funeral. Burial will follow in Blooming Grove Cemetery.

Full military graveside services will be conducted by the United States Army and the Galion and Crestline area veteran’s organizations
