Robert E. Walpole, age 70, of Mount Vernon, OH, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his family.  He was born in Mount Vernon, OH, on July 10, 1945 to the late Earnest and Esther (Page) Walpole Jr.

Bob graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1963.  He worked as a Tree Trimmer Foreman, worked for Copper Energy Service, and was a Foreman for Licking Rural Electric.  Bob loved the outdoors, mushroom hunting and as a youngster hunting and fishing. 

He is survived by his daughters, Debi (Ted) VanHouten, Pamela (Eric) Vanderpool; step-children; several grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Nancy (Butch) Boucher, Linda (Bill) McConnell, Vicky (Donnie) Ness and Soni (Matt) Todd. 

Besides his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his wife, Vivian J. Walpole; a daughter, Lori Gardner; and step-daughter, Wendy LaPiana.

Calling hours will be held Monday, June 13, 2016 from 1:00 PM until the time of funeral service at 2:00 PM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home; 201 Newark Rd. Mount Vernon, OH, 43050, with Jim Page officiating.  Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Gambier.
