Formerly of Centerburg, Ohio

Robert “Kickstand” “Bobby” Satterfield Jr., age 51 of Mt. Vernon passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at home.

He was born on December 23, 1964 in Mt. Gilead to the late Robert and Thelma (Covrett) Satterfield. A graduate of Centerburg High School in 1983, he participated in the auto body program with the Mt. Vernon Joint Vocational School.

A truck driver and carpenter by trade, he was a member of the Mt. Vernon Moose and the Sons of AMVETS Post 95.  He enjoyed a passion for Harley Davidson Motorcycles and poker runs. With an interest in history, he was also a huge Elvis fan. He also followed the OSU Buckeye football and women’s basketball teams. He was proud to mention that he was the manager of the 1976 undefeated Centerburg football team.

Considered a rebel at heart, he possessed an adventuresome spirit, surviving nine lives. Tall and skinny, with a pleasant smile, he was loved by and a friend to all. Sometimes argumentative and always generous, he lived life to the fullest. Bobby was at his best riding his bike or shooting a game of pool.

He is survived by his sisters: Cheryl Brenner of Delaware, Joyce (Bill) Phillips of Sunbury, Amy Young of Centerburg, nieces and nephews: Megan and Drew Brenner, Linda (Chris) Crumrine, Crystal Pierson, and Ryan Young, great-nieces and nephews: Morgan, Thomas, Keith, and Austin, cousins, and extended family.

Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Friday at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR’s 3 at 61, Sunbury, where services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Jeff Perry officiating. Burial follow in Eastview Cemetery.
