MANSFIELD: Robert Irvin Dement, 68, of Willowbrook Drive, Mansfield, died Thursday, December 14, 2006 in his home.
Robert was born May 13, 1938 in Linnville, Ohio to Chester I. and N. Charlene (Hockenberry) Dement, was graduated from Butler High School with the class of 1955, and remained a lifelong area resident.
He was employed by Mansfield Sanitary Products and retired in 1995 after 25 years of service.
Robert was a U. S. Army veteran, having served in Korea. He was a member of Earl D. McVey American Legion Post #16 and the V.F.W. Although he enjoyed hunting, he loved animals of all kinds. He also collected trains.
Robert is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law Bret R. and Gail Dement of Howard and Brad Dement of Loudonville; three grandchildren Travis Miller, Lyndsay Dement and Jessica Dement; five sisters and brothers-in-law Barbara and Gary Miller of Bellville, Bonnie and Don Phillips of Mount Vernon, Carol and Otis Gay and Alice and Bob Lengl of Perry FL, and Naola and John Paques of Albuquerque, NM; a brother and sister-in-law James and Teresa Dement of Lexington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
His parents preceded him in death.
Friends may call Sunday, December 17, 2006 from 2-5 pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home where the funeral service will be held Monday at 11 am. The Rev. Sharon Mutchler will officiate. Burial with military honors conducted by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail will follow in North Liberty Cemetery.
