Robert “Dale” Lambert

Robert “Dale” Lambert, age 89, of Sunbury, died Sunday, July 29, 2007 at Manor Care in Westerville.
He was born May 20, 1918 in Harmon, West Virginia to Robert and Sylvia (Mullennex) Lambert.
Dale retired 24 years ago from the trucking industry as self-employed and also for Matlack.
He was an Army Air Force Veteran serving as a Sgt. Auto Mechanic.
Dale spent his lifetime as a Central Ohio resident, graduating from Sunbury High School where he was an avid football player.
He was a 60 year plus member of Sparrow Lodge No. 400 F&AM, a member of Columbia Chapter No. 33 OES, belonged to Scottish Rite, Valley of Columbus and Delaware Shrine Club.
Dale enjoyed watching sports and was a hard working, quiet and gentle man.
Dale is survived by his wife, Mary B. “Betty” (Watts) whom he married January 23, 1938. He is also survived by his son: Larry Dale (Brigitta) Lambert of Sunbury, two grandchildren: David E. and Deborah E., a great grandson: his namesake- Stephen Robert; step-grandchildren: David, Doug (Sheri) and Jessica (Tim); and eight step-great grandchildren.
Dale was preceded in death by his brothers: Earl, Warren, Ted, and Darl; and his sisters: Irene, Virginia, Ruby and Argie.
Friends may call at Devore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, Tuesday, July 31 from 4-8 p.m. with Masonic services being held at 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Brian Smith officiating. Private interment in the Trenton Cemetery.
