Robert “Bob” John Taylor, age 71 of Marion, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Community Care in Marion.

Bob was born on March 18, 1948 in New Castle, PA, the son of John “Jack” Joseph and Margaret “Peg” Mary (Rooney) Taylor. He graduated in the class of 1966 from Marion Catholic School.

Bob was a jack of all trades, working as an electrician, salesmen and manager just to name a few. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler’s fan and enjoyed time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Megan Taylor; siblings: Jim Taylor, Tom (Kathy) Taylor, Noreen (John) Wilson, Mary Lou (Tom) Bell, Terry Taylor, Jack (Dianne) Taylor and Diane (Mark) Sanders; sister-in-law Sue Taylor and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and special friend, Carolyn Dye.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Bill Taylor; great-nephew, Zach Stayner and great niece Reese Taylor.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 251 North Main St. Marion at 10AM; Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Following the burial, all are invited to the Knights of Columbus Hall for a meal and time of fellowship.

    I have so many fond memories of Bob. He was a gentle soul. I’m glad he came to Vegas the year he did for our reunion…it was a good time. He talked a lot about Megan…he was very proud of her.

  • Bob was gentle, kind, and a very committed individual. So committed and with good insight he even threw a bunch of us out of our own family reunion (KOC). Gotta love him and we will miss him.
