Robert Allen Morris, 69 of Radnor passed away peacefully Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Grady Memorial Hospital, in the presence of his loving Michele.
Born July 31, 1952 in Columbus, Ohio, the only son to the late John & Lauretta (Metzger) Morris. Bob graduated high school and went on to attend the Ohio State University, and would earn his Bachelor’s in Science Degree, Bob also earned his Masters Degree from the Bowling Green University. Bob moved to Delaware, Ohio where he was hired on by Delaware Hayes High School as a American History and Government Teacher. Bob also coached the wrestling, football, and golf. Bob was with Delaware Hayes for 30 years before his retirement.
Growing up on a farm, Bob grew to love horses, his father raised several Pacers, most of which would be trained as race horses. Bob was a horseman at heart, rarely missing the Little Brown Jug. Bob’s greatest achievement was being the owner of Izatiger, who won Aged Pacer of the Year. Bob was a member of the US Trotting Association, and Ohio Harness Horseman Association.
Bob met the love of his life Michele Raker, they began dating and married in 1991, she survives, along with sisters Jeri (Frank) Jankovsky, and Susan Gribben; sisters-in-law Ilene Raker and Debra Stickley; brother-in-law Rex Raker; numerous nephews, and a niece; several adopted children through his school years; and numerous loving animals on their farm.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law Patrick Gribben.
Bob was an outdoorsman at heart, spending the first 10 years married with Michele, traveling and camping. He enjoyed fishing, and was an avid golfer. Those close to Bob will remember him as the loving, honest, loyal, and eternal fighter that he was.
It was Bob’s wish to be cremated, and taken back into nature which he loved so much. No services will be held at this time.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed towards New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program 719 Dolan Lane, Lexington, KY 40511 or the James Cancer Hospital 460 West 10th Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43210 or a charity of the Donor’s choice.
The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors and staff, not only with Grady Memorial Hospital, but with The James Cancer Hospital for all their time spent caring for Bob over the past several years.
