Rick R. Gallogly, age 64 of Marengo passed away Friday, May 1, 2020 in at Kobacker House in Columbus.

He was born on March 4, 1956 in Columbus to the late Kenneth E. and Helen L. (Baughman) Gallogly. Rick was a 1974 graduate of Highland High School. He was a US Marine Corp veteran. Throughout his career in the construction trade he worked with the Laborers Union Local #423 and had worked for Kokosing Construction and most recently with Danbert Contractors in Plain City.

An outdoorsman at heart, he had a passion for fishing and camping, especially on Kokosing Lake Campground. Strong, hardworking, and at times stubborn, he was most proud of his family. He collected lighthouses, baseball caps, and every work boot he ever wore. Never with idle hands, he enjoyed tinkering and was his best when surrounded by his family.

He is survived by his wife Christine (Caldwell); children: Shadrick (Mary Jo) Gallogly of Marengo, Stefanie Smith (Mark Hull) of Richwood, Deem and Emmett Butcher, grandson Kyle Smith, siblings: Gary Gallogly of Fredericktown, James (Deborah) Gallogly of S.C., Sarah Mae Storer of Cardington, Rebecca (Billy Jr. ) Miller of Bellefontaine, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He was also preceded in death by sister-in-law Brenda Gallogly and brother-in-law William “Bill” Storer.

A gather of immediate family and close friends will begin 10:00 am on Wednesday at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 637 N. St. Rt. 61 at St. Rt. 3, Sunbury, Ohio 43074, where funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon with John Yust officiating. Due to the current COVID-19 situation, the services will be Livestreamed, friends and family are encouraged to log on to the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Center Facebook Page:  facebook.com/SunburySFH
at 12:00 noon Wednesday. Military honors be held at the close of the funeral services. Burial will follow with graveside services at 2:30 for the immediate family in Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens.

  • i am sorry for christine and all of ricks family that he has gone on to be with lord. i know it is a trying time for all. however remember that rick is walking hand in hand with jesus this morning and showing jesus how to hunt and fish, which he loved. i have known rick since he was born. he was a trustworthy a man as you would have ever known. he was honest, dependable hard worker and good family man. he will be missed by all and we were blessed being a friend of his.. i know the family will see you on the other side, rick. god bless

  • We are sorry to hear of your loss. I remember Rick at home on the farm when we were both growing up and when our families got together. I have such fond memories of our families being together. I miss those days. We have been praying for the family and will continue to pray for them at this time. May the Lord be with you all.
