Richard L. Fox

MANFIELD: Richard L. Fox, 76, of Rosewood Drive, Mansfield, was reunited with his loving wife in the presence of the Lord on March 25, 2009, from Lexington Court Care Center.
Richard was born October 21, 1932 in Mansfield to Earl and Minnie (Davis) Fox, and was graduated from Madison High School in 1950.
A U.S. Army veteran Richard served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal.
On November 29, 1956 he married Virginia G. Marvin, she preceded him in death on January 11, 2007.
He worked as a maintenance mechanic for Globe steel in Mansfield 29 years in all, and also for MTD in Willard before retiring at the age of 65.
Richard was a member of Crossroads Community Church where he faithfully served his Lord and Savior. There were two things Richard truly enjoyed- beating his opponent in card games, and to eat a well prepared meal.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Tammy and Ron Schinsky of Mansfield, two sons Robert and Heidi Fox of Ontario, David and Judy Fox of Newport, TN, six grandchildren Jennifer and Jeremy Tackett, Scott Steele and his finance’ Sarah Raines, Kayley Fox, Tiffany Fox, Olivia and Sydney, two great grandchildren Desiree Smith and Braxton Reynolds, his very very close brother Robert Jay Fox of Mansfield, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Friends may call Friday, March 27, 2009 from 12:30 to 2:30 pm in the Finefrock Chapel of the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Friday at 3 pm in Mansfield Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail. Richard’s son, ordained minister David Fox will officiate.
