Richard John Darman, 65, of Sunbury passed away on Saturday (Sept. 11, 2010).

He was employed by the Ohio Department of Transportation. A graduate of Knox College and the University of St, Louis, Dick honorably served in the U. S. Army. As a great supporter of the arts and culture, he was a patron of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, Ballet Met and the Museum of Art. He was also an active member of the Perkins Observatory. Dick was an avid traveler of Europe, a great scholar of culture, in particular Gothic Cathedrals, and a gifted gardener.

He will be kept in the loving memories of his mother, Marion Darman; sister, Jane Smith; brother, Bill Darman; his two loving children, Shari Darman of New Mexico and Brian Darman of Georgia; his wife and high school sweetheart, Candace Darman; and his stepdaughter, Mariah Mazur of London, England.

A family service will be held later this year.
