MANSFIELD: Richard I. Foster, Jr., age 90, of 1320 South Home Road, Mansfield, died Friday afternoon June 1, 2001.
He was born May 16, 1911 in Baltimore, MD, to Richard I., Sr. & Mary Catherine Adams Foster, was graduated from Calvert Hall High School in Baltimore, and attended the University of Maryland Pharmacy School.
He retired in 1976 from Majestic Distillery.
Mr. Foster had lived in Mansfield for twenty-six years, moving here from Baltimore. He attended St. Peter’s Catholic Church, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and was an advisor for Junior Achievement.
He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law Elizabeth Anne “Betty” & Dr. John L. Marquardt of Mansfield, OH and Mary Michael “Mickey” Johns of Baltimore, MD; a son and daughter-in-law Richard I., III & JoAnn Foster of Springfield, OH; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth J. Butler Foster in 1969; a great grandchild Katie MacDonald; two brothers George Daniel Foster and Thomas Galvin Foster; and two sisters Kathryn Foster Carroll, and Mary Matilda Foster.
The Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday June 9, 2001 at 10 am in St. Pius X Catholic Church, Baltimore.
