Richard C. Jensen

BELLVILLE: Richard C. Jensen, 88, of Myers Avenue, Bellville, died Friday morning May 20, 2005 in Lexington Court Care Center following a short illness.
He was born March 12, 1917 in Rocky Ridge to Carson and Emma (Lentz) Jensen, and attended Bellville High School.
Richard served with the U.S. Navy during WWII, as a Seaman Second Class.
He had worked more than 38 years with White Westinghouse in set-up and as an instructor, but as a misplaced farmer, his heart was generally in his garden or with his woodworking tools, building birdhouses, birdfeeders and furniture.
He was a member of NewLife Church of Christ, Bellville, where he formerly served as deacon.
Remembered for his kindness and helping nature, Richard’s faith ran deep, which lent to his overall outlook of contentment and courage. His sure and genuine love for each of his family members contributed to their success.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Charles Frontz of Bellville; his son and daughter-in-law Daniel R. and Connie Jensen of Findlay; four grandchildren and their spouses Sandee and Michael Leeka of Hilliard, Michael and Sherry Frontz of Mansfield, Lisa and Christopher LaCongo of Holland, New York and Todd Jensen of Columbus; seven great grandchildren Brandon Baker, Kristin Baker, Ryan Leeka, Chandler Leeka, James Frontz, Julia Frontz, and Andrew LaCongo; two half brothers and their wives Fred and Helen Andrews of Mount Gilead and Harry and Saundra Andrews of Mansfield; three half sisters and their husbands Lois and Bob Graham of Picoriveria, California, Jeanette and Reggie Bobinhouse of Mohave Valley, Arizona, and Dorothy Nye of Tiro.
He was preceded in death by his wife Florence (Armstrong) Jensen on March 12, 2003; as well as by a sister Norma Fritchen, and a brother Arnold Jensen.
The worship service celebrating his home-going will be held Tuesday May 24, 2005 at 11 am in New Life Church of Christ, 195 West Durbin Avenue, Bellville. Pastors Steve Kistler and Dan Noe will officiate. Burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery, where the Richland County Joint Veterans Council will hold military graveside honors. The family will receive friends at the church building the hour prior to the service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Frontz, Todd Jensen, Chris LaCongo, Harry Andrews, Kenny Armstrong and Marlin Armstrong. The Bellville Snyder Funeral Home is handling funeral arrangements.
Memorial contributions to New Life Church of Christ or Jefferson Township-Bellville Rescue Squad may be made through the funeral home.
