Mount Gilead, Ohio

Richard A. “Rick” Scott, age 55, of Mount Gilead, died early Friday morning, December 4, 2009, at Woodside Village, after a year long battle with cancer.

He was born in New Boston, Ohio, on June 5, 1954, the son of the late Charles Scott and Mary (Wright) Evans of Mount Gilead.

Introduced by a mutual friend, Rick married the love of his life, Loraine Spadafora, on July 24, 1976 at the Karl Road Baptist Church in Columbus. They shared over 33 wonderful years of marriage, raising two children along the way.

An extremely hard worker, Rick spent many years as a block mason for Larry McQuaide Masonry in Columbus.

Rick loved to go fishing and camping at Alum Creek. He was also very fond of bowling, participating in several leagues throughout the years.

An ornery and bullheaded man, Rick was also a family man and loved being with his kids. To them, “he was just dad.”
