Rhonda Sue (Price) Woosley

April 03, 1955 ‒ January 19, 2019

Gambier, Ohio

It is with great sadness that the family of Rhonda Sue (Price) Woosley 63, of Gambier, OH announces her passing after an acute illness. Rhonda went to be with her Lord on Saturday afternoon, January 19, 2019, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, OH while surrounded by her loving family.

The daughter of Mack B. Price and the late Norma Jean (Lane) Keuhner, was born in Mount Gilead, OH on April 3rd, 1955. After attending the Knox County Career Center in Mount Vernon OH, Rhonda graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1973, with a diploma in general studies and certificate of completion in cosmetology.

Rhonda met the love of her life, Robert W. (Bob) Woosley when they were introduced to each other by mutual friends while enjoying country line dancing at the Eagles. It was love at first sight and following a short courtship they were united in marriage on September 4th, 1992 in the front yard of their Mount Vernon home.  Bob and Rhonda were blessed to share over 25 loving years together as husband and wife.

Being a very talented woman, Rhonda had many careers over her lifetime. While living in Wyoming, she attended the Laramie County Community College, and became a deaf interpreter so she could work with special needs children within the Cheyenne City schools in Cheyenne, WY. Upon moving back to Ohio, she attended North Central State College obtaining her CDL. Becoming a truck driver enabled her to join her best friend and husband over the road driving as a team for a few years. Following the birth of her first grandchild, Rhonda decided she wanted to stay closer to home. In doing so, she took a position at FT Precision in Fredericktown where she worked for over 20 years until her retirement. While in retirement, Rhonda discovered her passion for quilting, so she took a part time position working with some of her beloved friends at Paw Patch Quilt Shop in Mount Vernon.

Being a strong woman of faith, Rhonda, was an active, long time member of the Vineyard Church of Knox County. Often working behind the scenes generously serving others she was also involved in various bible studies, women’s groups and mission trips to Guatemala. In 2020 she was looking forward to going on another mission trip, this time to Jerusalem.

Rhonda enjoyed traveling, she felt a deep love for sandy beaches and snow topped mountains. Some of her favorite travel destinations include Yellowstone National Park, Mexico and Belize. Sharing precious memories of her numerous travel adventures with her sister Vickie, her husband and other friends was a common occurrence. When Rhonda was not traveling, she enjoyed being outdoors, tending to her vegetable and flower gardens, horseback riding, camping, mushroom hunting, walking on trails, attending various concerts, creating memories with her grandchildren, and cooking for her family.

She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and as an outgoing, energetic, loving, family-oriented woman that was selfless and was always helping others. In keeping with Rhonda’s loving and generous spirit, it was her decision to donate life so that others may live. Through the gift of organ donation, her generosity has the potential to save 8 lives and bring healing to at least 50 others. Therefore, she will also be remembered as a hero.

Rhonda will be dearly missed by her husband, Bob, of Gambier, OH; her 5 children: James “Rick” LaCoy of Columbus, OH, Michelle (LaCoy) McCotter and her husband, Bob, of Amanda, OH, Aaron Woosley of Cloumbus, OH, Andrew Woosley and his wife Becky, of Burlington, NC, Crystal (Woosley) Howard and her husband, Larry, of Burlington, NC; 10 grandchildren: Maverick, Aeronica, Lance, Logan, Camryn, Trenton, Braelyn, Z’kyra, Kelsey, Addison, Grayson; 2 great grandchildren: Lilah, Owen; her father Mack Price of Mount Vernon, OH, 6 siblings: Vickie (Price) Davis and her husband Gary, of Gambier, OH, Randenna (Rhodebeck) Sarratt and her husband, Mike, of Gahanna, OH, Angela (Rhodebeck) Kenyon and her husband, Rick, of Ashville, OH, Randall Price and his wife, Shelli, of Crestline, OH, Jacqueline (Price) Ross and her husband, Rick, of Lake Topaz, NV, Regina (Price) Marie of Dunnellon, FL; and numerous step-brothers and step-sisters.

  • Rhonda was an amazing person inside and out. I had the privilege of knowing her for the past 18 years of my life. We worked together for most of that, however every time I saw her she was always cheerful and full of spirit! Even during workdays no matter how stressful they were she would always smile and push through. A favorite past time memory of mine of her was during our “Zumba” and “Salsa Cardio” classes. Very active woman and made them fun!! She was a determined woman who didn’t let anything get in her way. She loved her family so much and always would tell me about her travels. We would compare stories cause I was a travele myself. It’s sad to her of her passing however I know she is up above smiling and being the Rhonda most of know , love, and remember.
