Revel Archey, 79, of Delaware, departed this life on April 16, 2012. Born in Knott County, Kentucky on February 24, 1933 to Ella Hall Blair, she was raised by her loving parents, Johnie and Myrtle Moore. After bravely defeating tuberculosis in 1948, she married her beloved on November 27, 1952 and settled in central Ohio.
A devoted and loving mother, family was always her top priority. She enjoyed spirited games of euchre, throwing parties for friends, and the joy of seeing happiness in others. Never learning to drive a car did not stop her from traveling the world, visiting all fifty American states and four foreign nations. Her kind and gentle nature impacted everyone she met, while her ready smile and easy laughter never failed to brighten all around her.
She is survived and missed by her children, Stan (Sheri) Archey, Libby (Dan) Inkrot, Elisa (Don) Writesel, Gayla (Jeff) Barsch, Tawnya (Ken) Baer, and John (Kim) Archey; grandchildren, Jason Archey, Zac Writesel, Joel Archey, Jairica (Shannon) Deitrich, Eli Inkrot, Ambrose Barsch, and Alana Barsch. She is also survived by loving sisters, Janice (Ettis Ray) Hall, Annette (Carlos) Hall, and Gledia (Wayne) Todd. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Hermie Childers and Eula Brummet; brothers Willie Holt, Jessie Blair, and Patrick Blair; daughter Deborah; and her husband of 57 years, Don Archey.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, April 27 at the Meadow Park Church of God, 2425 Bethel Road, Columbus, OH 43220.
