Rev. Robert E. Linter

Rev. Robert E. Linter, age 86, of Otterbein Home, in Lebanon, Ohio, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2012. He was born on February 18, 1926 in Seville, Ohio to the late Harry and Lyda (Peake) Linter. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Linter.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy (Daniels) Linter, who he married on December 14, 1947, and with whom he was excitedly anticipating their 65th wedding anniversary celebration this month. He also has a sister, Phyllis (Reed) Seiberling of Creston, Ohio.
He and Dot have faithfully sowed good seed into their four children: Larry (Paula) Linter of Reynoldsburg, Janice (David) Stephens of Cincinnati, Lynn (Mark) Gardner of Fountain City, Indiana, and Craig (Nancy) Linter of Bright, Indiana. Seven grandchildren and their spouses are also enriched by the benefits of his legacy: Anna (James) Oberle, Andrew (Anpu) Stephens, Kristen (Greg) Adams, Kelly Gardner, Emily (Chris) Rice, Joshua Linter and Jacob Linter.
His life has also blessed two great grandchildren: Elise Adams and Luke Adams
“Reverend Bob” served as an effective pastor for about 50 years in a variety of churches in West Ohio: Rutland 1951; Fairmount 1956; Marion-Wesley 1958; Newark-East Main-Newark Christ 1964; Waterville 1972; Mt. Healthy Heritage 1978; West Carrollton Memorial 1983; Trinity Van Wert 1984; Retired 1993; Bettsville Salem 1993; New Martinsburg 1997. In addition to his pastoral work, he also served as a much appreciated chaplain for Hospice and then later for the Cincinnati Police.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home of Fredericktown with visitation two hours prior. Rev. David Stephens will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown.
