Rev. Carl Witt Jr., age 77, of Camden, SC formerly of Delaware, passed away Tuesday morning at his residence. He was born June 21, 1929 in Detroit, MI to Carl and Sarah (Majeske) Witt. He was a graduate of Lawrence Institute of Technology, and Eastern Baptist Seminary. He was the Pastor of The Radnor Baptist Church in Radnor from 1955 to 1958 and was founder and Pastor of The Delaware Bible Church at 45 Belle Avenue from 1958 to 1985. Pastor Witt moved to Camden, SC in 1995 and was a member of The First Baptist Church where he taught an adult Sunday School class and was a member of The Sanctuary Choir. He was also a member of the Palmetto Mastersingers and was a musician, carpenter/woodworker. He enjoyed high school and collegiate sports. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Vera Mae Witt; two daughters Deborah (Greg) Yurchak of Cincinnati and Sarah (David) Haas of Las Vegas; four sons Daniel (Tiffany) Witt of Delaware, John (Pam) Witt of Boyertown, PA, James (Linnea) Witt of Roseburg, OR, David (Gabriella) Witt of Ft. Benning, GA; and thirty grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Paul Jonathan Witt at infancy, stepfather John Weidner, and granddaughters Kaliana Witt and Anna Joy Witt. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 27th from noon until 2:00 PM at The Delaware Bible Church where services will commence at 2:00 PM with Pastor Marvin Hintz officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
