Rebecca K. “Becky” Sisson

April 27, 1949 ‒ August 27, 2019

Galion, Ohio

Rebecca K. “Becky” Sisson, 70, of Galion passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by loved ones on August 27, 2019.

Becky was born in Marion, to Art and Lillian Snyder (Stepmother-Ruby Snyder) on April 27, 1949. She married Alan Sisson on April 19, 1969 in Marion and he preceded her in death on October 11, 2007.

She was a graduate of Marion Harding High School in 1967. She attended Grand Prairie Baptist Church where she was very active.  In 1985 she started one of the first closet organizing businesses in Ohio, Rebecca’s Custom Closets, in 1998 she and her family opened a coffee shop, House of Java, on the campus of Tennessee Tech University.

For the last 20 Thanksgivings or so, she chose a different country to make and prepare their own traditional meals.  She would even write the menu in that country’s native language.  She kept the family guessing what the surprise country would be.  Some of the unique entrée’s she created have included items like trotters all the way to octopus.  She also loved spending time with her family, including making the most out of her yearly family vacation to Florida.

She is survived by her children, Wendy (John) Bird of Galion and Matthew Sisson of Galion; grandson, Nathan Bird of Galion; sister, Linda (Dave) Garrison of Marion; brother, Louis (Michelle) Gorre of Columbus; five sisters-in-law, Sonja Snyder of Sarasota, Florida, Bennie Sisson of Texas, Linda Sisson, Lora Dawson and Sally McCoy all of Marion and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by sister, Joyce Roberts and two brothers, Bill and James Snyder.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life for Becky at a later date.

Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes in Galion is honored to serve the family of Becky Sisson, and condolences may be made to them at
