Raymond Marshall, 88, of Mansfield, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011 at MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital in Mansfield.
Born Feb. 4, 1923 in Martin, Ky., he was the son of the late Albert Marshall and Annie Flannery Marshall. He married Biddie Watkins Marshall on May 19, 1947 and she survives.
He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and worked in the Kentucky coal mines for 22 years for various companies retiring in 1980. He and his wife moved to Mansfield from Kentucky in 2003.
He is survived by one son, Charles Ray Marshall of Covington, Ky.; one daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and James Edmundson of Galion; five grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; one brother, Claude Marshall of Auburn, Ind.; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Grace Tincher of LaGrange, Ky., Lou Ellen Tincher of Jackson, Ky. and Alberta and Keith Watson of Edmond, Ok.
He was preceded in death by brothers and sister, Oda Howard, Ethel Lovely, Della Baldridge, Dock Marshall, Ellis Marshall, Edgille Marshall, Clayton Marshall and Dora Mae Mullins.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, with Rev. Joe Stafford officiating. Burial will follow in Iberia Cemetery.
