Raymond F. “Fred” Husk Jr.

January 15, 1951 ‒ September 09, 2020

Galion, Ohio

Raymond F. “Fred” Husk Jr., age 69, of Galion, passed away at his home, Wednesday morning, September 9, 2020.

On January 15, 1951, Fred was born in Richwood, West Virginia, a son of the late Raymond F. Sr. and Lavonne L. (Russell) Husk.  He graduated from Richwood High School.

A U.S. Army Veteran, Fred proudly served his country as a heavy machine operator during Vietnam.

Fred married the love of his life, Wilma L. Hammond, on March 17, 1973, in Ashland, Ohio.  Together they shared over 47 wonderful years together as husband and wife.

Fred traveled all over the country as an over-the-road truck driver, working for several different companies throughout his life.

Fred was a West Virginia country boy at heart.  He loved being outdoors trout fishing, camping, hunting and playing golf.  He also enjoyed going to garage sales.  Fred lived for his grandchildren and liked nothing more than to spoil them rotten and then send them home to their parents.

Fred will be dearly missed by his wife, Wilma, of Galion; his three children: Anita (Michael) Schwab of Lexington, Crystal Husk of Marion, Raymond F. “Jayar” (Danielle) Husk III of Mount Vernon; four grandchildren: Rylee McCormick, Ethan Schwab, Stephen Husk and Waide Husk; three brothers: John Husk of WV, Jim (Linda) Husk of Gallipolis, Samuel (Melissa) Husk of Zanesville; two sisters: Sandra (Ralph) Dillard of WV, Sherry (Mike) Hoke of WV; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his aunt and uncle, Genevieve and Harvey Mowry.

Per his wishes, no services will be held at this time.
