Raymond E. Frere

Raymond Edward Frere, 69, husband, loving father, and grandfather went to join the Lord on Wednesday December 26, 2007. Raymond was born in Charleston, West Virginia and resided in Ohio since 1964. He was an avid fan of the Mountaineer Football team and loved hunting, boating, golfing, fishing, and feeding the deer and various wild life.
Raymond was a graduate of Charleston Catholic High School and attended Morris Harvey College. He served his country in the United States Air Force as an Air Policeman. He was stationed at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada and Thule, Greenland.
Raymond was employed as a Glasscutter at Libby Owens Ford Glass in Charleston, West Virginia. He moved to Ohio to continue glass cutting at the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company in Mount Vernon. While in Ohio he managed several LK Restaurants, and also worked at Cooper Energy Services and Kelsey Hayes both in Mount Vernon.
Raymond was preceded in death by his mother Marion J. (Martin) Frere, his father Emil E. Frere, and a brother Robert E. Frere.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 45 years Kathleen (Lazare) Frere, son Lance Frere, daughters Corby Frere and Cindy Bell. Grandchildren Lauren and Alana and Zach whom he adored. Also surviving are his mother-in-law Marjorie Lazare, special in-laws Gloria and Adrian Despres and their six children, sister-in-law Theresa Banks and son and uncle Forrest Martin and family.
Friends may call Sunday from 1 PM to 4 PM at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, where services will be held Monday at 11 AM with his nephews Reverend Adrian T. Despres and Reverend Greg PL. Despres officiating. Burial with military honors by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
