Raymond A. “Al” Savage, 68, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Tuesday February 7, 2006 at the Ohio Eastern Star Home, Mount Vernon. Al was born on July 29, 1937 at Arnold, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Raymond G. and Evelyn (Galgania) Savage.

Al retired from PPG after 29 years and later was a custodian for the Mount Vernon City Schools from which he also retired. Al was a devoted father and grandfather.

He is survived by a son Stephen (Belinda) Savage of Howard; three daughters, Victoria (Ed) Piar, Susan Rambo and LeAnne Tindall all of Mount Vernon; eight grandchildren Tyler Savage, Ellie Piar, Natalie Piar, Jeremy Savage, Kayle Savage, Nick Rambo, Nathan Tindall, and Lauren Tindall; two brothers, Doug (Kathy) Savage and Larry (Madge) Savage both of Mount Vernon.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2006 beginning at 2:30 p.m. in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Father Ted Thomas officiating. The arrangements are under the care and direction of the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, Mount Vernon.
