Randell J. LANDIS, age 69 of Cardington formerly of Marengo died at home early Sunday morning, September 9, 2007 following an extended illness.

He was born in Kenna, West Virginia on May 9, 1938 to the late Cleo and Vertie (Williams) Landis. A steel worker, he worked at the Kinnear Steel Plant in Columbus for 44 years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially for deer, whose racks he proudly displayed. He was kind, generous, and fun loving, family was always his first priority. He also enjoyed tinkering with his original and replica 1932 Model A cars.

Survived by Son Rick & Becky Landis of Cardington, Daughter Vickey & Melvin Stiffler of Marengo, 6 Grandchildren: Melvin, Malinda, Angie, Sarah, Aaron, Meriah, Great-grandchildren: Ty, Abigail, Cyrus, Braden, Meliah, Bryce and Brother Sattis (Francis) Landis of Huntington, West Virginia

Preceded in death by his wife of 42 years: Erma “Peggy” (McDole) Landis on January 8, 2002, Sisters: Charlotte Goble and Opal Rhoades.

Friends may call Tuesday from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m., at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 229, MARENGO, where services will follow at 6:00 p.m., Pastor Rolland Edwards and Chuck Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in the Marengo Cemetery.
