Ralph R. Daniels, age 76, of Mount Vernon, a former Fredericktown Resident, died Sunday January 29, 2006 at the Country Club Retirement Center in Mount Vernon. Ralph was born June 20, 1929 in Knox County to J. Walter and Lulu (Passet) Daniels and had lived his lifetime in Knox County. He attended Fredericktown Schools, had maintained a farm in Middlebury Township all of his lifetime, and had served as a Middlebury Township Trustee for 24 years.

Ralph was a member of the Batemantown United Methodist Church, Middlebury Grange, Knox County Farm Bureau, and Middlebury Sodbusters Council. He had served, as an advisor at Producers Livestock in Mount Vernon, was a charter member and now honorary member of the Fredericktown Tomato Show Board of Directors and was an honorary member of the Fredericktown FFA.

Surviving are his daughters Jane (Irl) Ruhl and Rebecca (Dennis) Shinaberry both of Fredericktown, his sons David (Kathy) Daniels of Fredericktown and Richard Daniels of Wooster; eight grandchildren Chuck (Darla) Daniels of Ottawa, Ohio, Chad (Libby) Daniels of Sunbury, Rachel Ruhl, Renee Ruhl, Ryan Ruhl, Joshua Shinaberry, Jeremy Shinaberry, and Jim Shinaberry all of Fredericktown; a great granddaughter Gabrielle Daniels; his brother Dwight Daniels of Jelloway and his longtime canine companion Crissy. Ralph was preceded in death by his wife Margaret (Wertz) Daniels on January 27, 1997.

Friends may call Tuesday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 PM at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown. A funeral service celebrating the life of Ralph Daniels will be Wednesday at 11 AM at the Batemantown United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Parsons II and Rev. Doug Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown.
