Ralph E. Fisher Jr.

Ralph E. Fisher Jr., age 81 of Delaware died early Friday morning, September 30, 2005 at Arbors of Hilliard.
He was born on Sept. 18, 1924 in Hilliard to the late Ralph and Bertha (Knouff) Fisher. A graduate of Willis High School Class of 1943, he had formerly resided in the Delaware, Dublin, and Marysville areas. Ralph was a WW II Veteran and served his country as an aerial gunner in the US Army Air Force. He was a retired building contractor and member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Marysville.
A skilled carpenter, he was a craftsman of furniture and doll houses. He enjoyed working with his hands, history, traveling, gardening, fishing, and collecting “old stuff”.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years: Elsie J. (Stauch) Fisher, Daughters: Beverly Gasbarro (Dave Franz) of Worthington, Linda (Allen) Martin of Plain City, Joyce (Dorn) Snyder of London, Son: Larry (Carolyn) Fisher of Columbus, Grandchildren: Renee (Rich) Odom, Sean, Chad (Jeni), and Amanda Martin, Marty and Cory Savage Great-grandchildren: Taylor, Savannah, Shane Odom, Jacob and Abigail Martin, Sisters: Virginia (Dee) Lowry of Delaware, Helen Thomas of WV, Carol (James) Sheets of Delaware, Brother: Howard (Genevieve) Fisher of Delaware, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded in death by Brothers Walter and Harold Fisher.
The family will greet friends on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St. (SR 36), Delaware, where services will follow Monday 9:30 a.m., with Pastor Thomas Hackett officiating. Burial will follow in Africa Cemetery with military honors provided by the Delaware County Veterans Assoc.
