You could often see Ralph tending the flowers at the front gate of the fairgrounds, which seemed natural as his home was actually on the grounds. Ralph’s favorite activity was harness racing. Dating back to his childhood when the county fair had mule races. His dad raised mules and he and a friend secretly entered themselves in the race and won $26. Ralph also spent weekday mornings at McDonald’s drinking coffee with his friends discussing various topics. He was very proud of Morrow County, both as a businessman and resident; enjoying all of the people he came in contact with through the years. Ralph was known for his great sense of humor which he carried with him right until the end.
