  • Dear Heather (and extended family) – I was stunned and deeply saddened to learn of Scott’s passing. I feel sure that his legacy of loving and caring for God’s 4-legged creations on this earth, mean that he was greeted in Heaven by wagging tails and welcoming love. Heaven’s gain is our earth’s loss. Hugs and love to you Heather as you are in the midst of unimaginable loss. Scott will forever be in your heart and with you.

  • Heather I cannot fathom this loss for you and Scott’s family. Though it has been years since I have seen him I remember him fondly from HS. He was so kind and generous then and I was absolutely shook to read of his passing. I hold you close in prayer and thank God for all those he were impacted by him while he was here. A kinder gentler soul I have never met.

  • I was shocked to hear of his passing. Heather my heart breaks for such a loss. We will keep you in our prayers.

  • I never met Scott. But, I want to say how sad I am for his family. It is clear that the world be be a lesser place because we lost “one of the good ones”. The animals are so grateful for his love and care.

  • It is hard to believe he is now in the presence of Jesus, worshiping God in person. I have many wonderful memories of visiting my cousin when I was younger. I pray that his family has the peace that only God can provide in these difficult circumstances.

  • We are so sorry for your loss. We had the pleasure of getting to know Scott through his work at Dr. Swetlics office with our daughter Kristin. He always had a smile on his face, and a funny story to tell. It got to be that he would just call me Mom even though we are about the same age:). Keeping all of you in thoughts & prayers♡

  • It is shocking to hear that Scott has passed. I met him in Ashland when he worked with Dr. Emser. Then years later at Swetlic. He was a brilliant young man. His love for Heather and their pets was incredible. He helped me considerably not only with back pain but also with discussions about pets and rescues. He will be missed!

  • A terrible loss for those of us still on earth, yet a great gain in Heaven. May Heather and Scott’s family have peace knowing many prayer warriors are lifting them in prayer requesting comfort. Take joy in knowing we will see him again and he has been received into loving arms of our great God, with a “job well done.” No greater legacy than one that has encouraged the rest of us to continue to love others well. Welcome home, our sweet Scotty.

  • Bob and Naomi,

My heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with you. I haven’t seen Scott for a number of years but recall that he was such a kind and giving person.

  • My friend Scott. We had great heartfelt laughs, great fun, great talks, and wonderful memories. From the first day I had met you and said, “I’m short too”, I knew we would have a great friendship. God doesn’t make friends much better than you, well your parents helped. Thank you for letting me be a chapter in your life story.
It’s so hard when everyone’s world keeps on turning but yours has come to a complete stop. Never stop talking about his awesomeness because that’s how the heart heals and the memories stay alive and well. Lots of love.

  • Bob, Naomi and family, While I remember Scot in his boyhood, growing up next door… I was so moved by the wonderful video of his incredible journey with family and loved ones! His countenance expressed his love for life and providing joy and presence for others.
Thoughts and prayers for your whole family. TerryEmick-Selemani

  • I stil can’t believe that Scott has passed. I never met him in person but have felt like I’ve known he and Heather for years through the rescue community. These two have had such a loving relationship and a life full of giving and caring, as well as humour like no others. I can’t count how many times I’ve followed their antics and their stories about Camp Somerlade, both happy and sad. It seems so wrong that someone so young, who is so loved and who made the world a better place, could be taken way with his life story seemingly still being written.
Heather, I can tell you that the two of you have entertained and inspired so many people; probably more than you could ever know. I have no words but can only imagine what you’re going through. So many people are thinking of you and wishing they could do anything to help. There are so many loving arms wrapped around you. Remember that you were a part of each other and in that sense he lives on. He will be with you forever. Smiling in almost every photo, he will be remembered. To the rest of his loved ones, I’m so very sorry and sending love and light as you all try to recover from this tragedy. Most sincere sympathy to all who are grieving today.

  • Sorry for your loss Heather & family!! Sending (((Hugs))) & Prayers!! I never met him personally, but by posts & videos on Facebook. He was so funny, caring & had a great personality. I loved seeing the posts with him & their Fur-Babies!! Heather, keep you in my thoughts & prayers!
