Phyllis E. Burson, age 86, of Mount Gilead, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at the Country Court Nursing Home in Mount Vernon, Ohio. She was born on April 28, 1932 in Delaware County, Ohio, to the late Dean and Dale (Shaw) Clark.

Phyllis loved Gardening and taking care of her flowers, she even participated in flower competitions and won. Phyllis was famous for her homemade chicken and noodles and potato salad.  She was an avid Buckeye fan and loved to watch them on TV.  Most of all she loved being around her loving family.

She is survived by her children, Wayne (Van) Burson, Gary (Linda) Burson, Donald Burson; a daughter, Jeannine A. (Ronald) Ogle; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 5 great great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Pollock and Linda (Gary) Sturgil.

Along with her parents, Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband, Neil Burson; brothers, Earl and Doyle Clark; granddaughters, Jenny Burson and Courtney Burson; and a sister, Barbara Linkous.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 from 12:00 PM until the time of the Memorial Service starting at 1:00 PM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home; 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050, officiated by Rachel Blevins.
