Phyllis A. Hunt

Phyllis A. Hunt passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2017 in OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital surrounded by her family. She was 86.

She was born March 22, 1931 to parents John & Irene (Chambers) Dughman in Galion. Phyllis graduated from Madison High School with the class of 1949, and married William E. Hunt not long after on July 2, 1954; they shared 63 wonderful years together.

Phyllis was very active and longtime member of Chapel Hill UMC and was also a founding member of Ontario Christian Church. She enjoyed spending 11 winters in Ft. Myers, Florida and tending to her gardens. There was not a single weed that Phyllis would not pull.

She is survived by her husband William E. Hunt; son Douglas (Jayne) Hunt of Galion; daughter Marci (John Reeser) Hunt of Baltimore, Maryland; grandson Steven Hunt; step-grandchildren Juston Chapman and Jennifer Chapman; niece Paula (Bill) Worner; nephews Carl Dughman and Chris Dughman; and other extended family members.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Donald Dughman and Paul Dughman.

A funeral service will be held Saturday August 26, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, 81 Mill Road, with an hour prior of calling at 10 a.m. Russell Enzor will officiate with burial to follow in Bellville Cemetery.

Contributions in Phyllis’s memory to the Bellville Neighborhood Outreach Center and Chapel Hill UMC may be made at the funeral home.
