Phillip Larry Snoddy

Phillip Lawrence “Larry” Snoddy, 70, of Ashley died Tuesday at the Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus. He was born February 1, 1939 in Ashland, Kentucky to Philip and Wahneitta (Miller) Snoddy. He was a United States Air Force veteran serving from 1965 – 1969 and he retired in 2004 from the US Army Corps of Engineers after 32 years. He was a member of the VFW #3297, AmVets Post #102, and the Moose Lodge, all of Delaware, and the Ashley American Legion. He was also a 32nd degree Mason and member of the Order of the Scottish Rite and Masonic Lodge of Ashland, Kentucky. He enjoyed woodworking, remodeling cars, clock making, and was just an all around jack of all trades. He is survived by his wife, Vonda Carroll-Snoddy; daughter, Tina DeVries of Campbell, Ca.; son, Michael Wayne of Ashland, Kentucky; stepdaughter, Jovita (Michael) Morrison of Elkton, Maryland; 2 stepsons, Tom (Tammy) Carroll of Ashley and Todd (Kathy) Carroll of Henderson, Nevada; 2 grandchildren, Ian and Colin DeVries; 5 step grandchildren, Michael “Barry”, Justin, and David Morrison and Tom and Lindsay Carroll; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and twin brother Gary. The family will receive friends today (Friday) from 5 – 8 pm at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, 307 E. High St., Ashley and where funeral services will be held on Saturday March 14th at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Park. The family will then host a reception in the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home Community Room immediately following the graveside services.
