Phillip A. “Jr.” Frost, age 67, of West Gambier St., Mount Vernon passed away on Wednesday morning, December 10, 2008 in the Emergency Room at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. He was born on June 26, 1941 in Mount Vernon, a son of the late Francis “Bert” and Ethel (Swinehart) Frost.

Phillip retired from the Mount Vernon Developmental Center with 21 years of faithful service. After, retirement Phillip loved to go around and collect scrap metal and used items. Phillip was also a member of the AmVets Post 95 in Mount Vernon.

Phillip is survived by his devoted wife, Loretta (Teal) Frost, whom he married on March 10, 1980; daughters, Melissa (Terry Riel) McElroy of Mount Vernon and Evelyn (Kevin Cupp) Kessler of Lancaster; grandchildren, Kody, Kaleb, Kyle, and Colton; a brother, Milan (Juanita) Frost of Mount Vernon; sisters, Jackie Wilson, Stella (Bob) Matheney, and Sharon Denhart all of Mount Vernon, Thelma Grubaugh, Maxine Canterbury, and Mary Hubbard all of Mansfield; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, George (Jean) Teal of Mount Vernon; his feline companion, Tommy; his canine companions, Bo and Lexi; numerous nieces and nephews; and many special friends.

In addition to his parents, Phillip was preceded in death by brothers, Joe and Nelson Frost; a nephew, John Frost; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Evelyn Teal.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, December 15, 2008 at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 East High St., Mount Vernon where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 with Rev. Wade Wolf officiating. Burial will follow in the Brandon Cemetery.
