MANSFIELD: Pearl West, formerly of Lexington, went to be with the Lord Monday, August 5, 2019 from Brookdale in Wooster. She was 85.
She was born December 24, 1933 to parents Wesley & Bessie (Elkington) Volz in Mansfield. Pearl graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1951.
On Valentine’s Day in 1953, she married William West and they shared 62 wonderful years of marriage until he passed away in 2015. Now they are together again.
Pearl was a member of First English Lutheran in Mansfield and worked at Richland New Hope, retiring in 1993.
In her spare time, she took pleasure in working in her garden (both flower and vegetable), painting, sewing and antiques. She also liked going to Florida for a couple of weeks a year, but above all, Pearl cherished her family.
She is survived by children Ron (Lynn) West, Curt (Tina) West, Debbie (Roger) Partlow and Doug West; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother Wesley (Sandie) Volz; sister-in-law Laura Volz.
In addition to her loving husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Tom Volz and George Volz; and granddaughter Hannah West.
The Volz family will receive friends Monday, August 12, 2019 from 4-6 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where a funeral service honoring Pearl’s life will begin immediately at 6 p.m. Pastor Paul L. Larson will officiate.
