MANSFIELD: Pauline V. Atkins, 88, of Mansfield passed away Monday evening November 1, 2010 in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital.
Pauline was born March 6, 1922 in Bluefield, West Virginia to Lee and Nanny (Roberson) Lemons and graduated from Bluefield High School. On February 5, 1946 she married James Atkins.
Blessed with a servants heart Pauline’s focus was caring for her family. She also enjoyed ceramics.
Pauline is survived by her son and daughter-in-law William (Michelle) Atkins of Lexington; grandchildren Jesse Atkins of Columbus, Julie Atkins of Mansfield and Dawn (Rob) Kamen of Mansfield; four great grandchildren Olivia and Chloe Porter and Ian and Ivy Kamen; sisters Della Dunn of Mansfield and Louella Young of Bluefield, West Virginia; along with numerous extended family.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Atkins; son Donald Atkins; brothers Wilmer and Buford Lemons; sisters Effie Gadd and Bea Temme.
The Atkins family will receive friends on Friday November 5, 2010 from 1:30-2:30pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where her funeral service will follow at 2:30pm. Pastor Dave Atkins will officiate and burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions to Visiting Nurses Association may be made at the funeral home.
