Pauline “Polly” Schiefer

Pauline “Polly” Schiefer, 77, of Delaware, OH passed away Saturday morning August 6, 2016 at her daughter’s residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born April 15, 1939 in Oceola, Ohio to the late Clifford and Elizabeth (Lecrone) Wilson and later graduated from Holmes Liberty High School.

Polly worked as an accounting clerk for Wendy’s International retiring after 22 years. She was a member of the Delaware Lions Club, Delaware Hayes Boosters, Order of the Eastern Star in Nevada and a board member for the River Oaks Condo Association in Delaware. She loved gardening, working in her flower beds and attending her grandsons ball games.

Polly loved the holidays especially Christmas. She always started her shopping in July on QVC. She also enjoyed the New Year’s Eve sleepovers with her grandsons. She was very proud of her “beautiful family”, always commenting and telling others what a wonderful family she had.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Wendy (Michael Thompson) Schiefer and Julie (David) McKenzie all of Delaware; four grandsons, Eian and Westin Banks and Devon and Austin McKenzie; one great granddaughter, Ella Banks; two sisters, Phyllis Tschanen of Nevada and Joan Harden of Newark.

In addition to her parents, Polly was preceded in death by her special companion Tootsie.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Harbor Light Hospice for the wonderful care provided to Polly.

The family will receive friends on Saturday August 13, 2016 from 2 – 4 pm at the Snyder Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive (formerly 1510 W. William Street), Delaware. A reception will follow in the Snyder Rodman Community Room. Burial will be held at a later date in Nevada, Ohio.

Contributions in Polly’s memory may be made to the Humane Society of Delaware County, 4920 SR 37 E, Delaware, OH 43015 or to the donor’s choice of charity.
