Pauline E. Chipps, 82, of Mt. Gilead, Ohio died Wednesday, December 04, 2002 in Morrow Manor in Chesterville.

She was born in Kirkpatrick, Ohio on November 20, 1920, the daughter of the late Samuel and Margaret Cornelius Kemp. She graduated from Chesterville High School in 1939 and worked for North Electric in Galion and the Mt. Gilead Truck Plaza until retiring. Pauline attended Harmony Chapel United Methodist Church. She also had served as a trustee for the Selover Public Library, sang in the Mansfield Sweet Adelaide’s, and volunteered at Morrow Manor.

She is survived by a son John “Butch” (Emma) Chipps of Chesterville, OH; a daughter Charlotte Chipps of Sparta, OH; four grandchildren Tina, Darren, Jessica and Nicole, and eleven great grandchildren.

Her husband John W. Chipps, whom she married Dec. 6, 1941, preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 1976. Grandchildren Jodi, Julie, Ashley and Derek, brothers Berlin and Otis Kemp, and a sister Juanita Jones also preceded her in death.

Friends may call at the Craven Funeral Home in Mt. Gilead Thursday evening from 5-8 p.m. Rev. Mark Boedeker will conduct funeral services there Friday at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Chesterville.
