Paul Zariczny, age 89, of Spruce Street, Mount Vernon, passed away on Friday July 8, 2005 at the Laurels of Mount Vernon. He was born on November 10, 1915 in Lockport, New York to the late Gabriel and Anna (Patronek) Zariczny. Mr. Zariczny retired in 1980 after 40 years of employment as an engineer with Conrail Railroad in Buffalo, New York. He had served in the United States Navy during World War II and was stationed in Okinawa. Paul had a love for his vegetable garden and if he wasn’t outside working in the yard, he could be found inside reading a good book.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Mary (Calo) Zariczny, a sister Alice McGowan of Lockport, New York and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother John Zariczny.
The family will observe a memorial service at a later date. These services are under the care and direction of the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home.
