Paul Seymour, age 74, of Fredericktown, died Saturday May 26, 2012 at the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus. Paul was born on January 6, 1938 in Knox County, Ohio to Paul and Elsie (Fry) Seymour. He was a 1956 graduate of Fredericktown High School where he excelled in Football, Basketball and Baseball. Paul retired in 1999 after 42 years or employment with Cooper Energy Services. He was a past member of the Fredericktown Board of Education as well as a member of the Fredericktown Village Council, Masonic Lodge F&AM in Grove City, Moose Lodge of Mount Vernon and the Fredericktown First Baptist Church. Paul enjoyed golf, camping and being on his sailboat, but most important to him was the quality time he spent with his family.

Surviving is his high school sweetheart and wife of 56 years Carolyn (Carter) Seymour, his daughters Brenda Bess of Howard and Lori (Clay) Revis of Amelia; his son Thomas (Elizabeth) Seymour of Fredericktown; 5 grandchildren, Max Seymour, Kelsey Sterrett, Megan Sterrett-Sullivan, Beth Smith and Shannon Kitts; five great grandchildren; his sister Eileen (Ronald) Boner of Uniontown and his brother Carroll “Sam” (Dreama) Seymour of Orrville. Besides his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his grandson Thomas Bess, son-in-law John M. Bess, sisters Leila Whitzky and Pauline “Polly” Beal and brothers William “Bill” Seymour and Lloyd “Shorty” Seymour.

Friends may call on Thursday from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. at the Fredericktown First Baptist Church, 22 East Sandusky Street, Fredericktown, Ohio 43019 where a celebration of life service for Paul will begin at 1 p.m. Rev. Mary Miller will be officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown.
