Paul Robert Alexander
May 07, 1946 ‒ May 15, 2021
Paul Robert Alexander, age 75, of Marion, passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Marion General Hospital.
Paul was born in Marion, Ohio on May 7, 1946 to the late John Corbin and Edith Mae (Miley) Alexander and attended New Bloomington High School. Paul was enlisted in the US Army during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged, Paul worked for The Whirlpool Corporation retiring in 2007. While at Whirlpool, he worked as an assembler and in the paint department.
On July 9, 1980 Paul married the love of his life, Linda Mae Foust. Together Paul and Linda loved their two children and watching their grandchildren grow. Linda passed away October 27, 2007.
Paul was a family man and loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He made sure to never miss their sporting events at North Union and was lovingly referred to as ‘grandpa’ by many of their friends. Everyone knew grandpa had his spot in the bleachers and usually had some homemade beef jerky with him.
Always giving of himself, Paul spent countless hours taking care of the church buildings, grounds, and helping members at their homes with his friend Ray. Paul enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and could often be found fishing, mushroom hunting or waiting for his family to get home on their deck.
He will be missed by his children, Tracy (Scott) Martino of Prospect and Tim (Sandra) Alexander of Marion; devoted grandchildren, Mikenzie, Peyton, Logan, Regan, Spencer, Scott, Dakota, Michael, and Jessica; great-grandchildren, Brynlee, Ivy, Drexler, Gannon, Kinlee, Gracelynn, and Zavier; and siblings, John Alexander, Ralph Alexander, Dorothy (Jesse) Carlyle, and Judy Wolford.
In addition to his parents and wife, Paul was preceded in death by brother, Kenny.
Visitation will be held at Snyder Funeral Homes, Gunder/Hall Chapel (347 West Center Street, Marion) on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 from 4 until 7 pm. A funeral will be held at Fairpark Baptist Church Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 11 am with Pastor David Rush officiating. Burial will follow in Agosta Cemetery, New Bloomington, Ohio.
