Paul Francis O’Keefe, 85, of Delaware passed away Saturday afternoon November 15, 2014 at the Wintersong Village Nursing Home in Delaware.
He was born June 21, 1929 in Delaware, Ohio to the late Thomas Charles O’Keefe and Edna Elizabeth (Haas) O’Keefe.
Paul assisted with the family farm and retired from DelCo Water after many years. He also worked several years for Drs. Duber and Walters Veterinary Services and Floyd Greasamar Hertz Rental Car in Delaware. He was a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Delaware and a member of the Knights of Columbus #1056 of Delaware. Paul was an avid card player enjoying both poker and euchre and he also enjoyed watching OSU and Notre Dame football and the Indianapolis 500.
Left to cherish his memory are his sisters Mary Sue (Ron) Bellisari of Columbus and Carol (John) O’Connell of Plain City; sisters-in-law Nancy O’Keefe and Wanda O’Keefe of Delaware and Donna O’Keefe of Seal Beach, California; close nieces and nephews Cathy (Bill) Rausch, Mike (Terri) O’Connell, Cathy (Steve) Hess, Tina (Jeff) Starner, Ron Bellisari II, Toni and Tiffany Bellisari, Sharon (Scott) Krause, Jeannette (Paul) Buckley and Tom O’Keefe; special great nieces and great nephews Hunter, Makenzie and Aiden Levings, Brinley and Albany Havens, and Heather and Mia O’Keefe; several other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers Richard “Dick”, John “Jack” and James O’Keefe.
Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday November 19th at 10:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 82 E. William Street, Delaware with Rev. Fr. Michael Watson officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Following the burial, the St. Mary Bereavement Committee will host a reception in the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center Community Room, where the family will also receive friends.
