MT. VERNON: Paul L. Ramey, 82, of Mt. Vernon and formerly of Mansfield, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016 in Hospice of North Central Ohio’s Hospice House.

The son of John and Lydia (Swaim) Ramey, Paul was born November 27, 1933 in Huntington, West Virginia.

He served in the Navy Reserves.  Paul worked 40 years for Ideal Electric and retired in 1996 as supervisor.

He enjoyed hunting deer and fox.  Paul repaired cars and in his younger years enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Lenore (Adkins) Ramey of Mt. Vernon; children Ed (Sandy) Ramey of Galion, Pamela (Jim) Hinch of Fredericktown, and Christina (Bryan) Clinger of Haslett, Michigan; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; brother Norman (Bonnie) Ramey of Mansfield; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his son Kevin Ramey; eight brothers and two sisters.

The Ramey family will receive friends Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 10 am-12 pm in the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where funeral services will begin at 12 pm.  Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park.

  • My heartfelt sympathy to you all. I will always treasure my memories of spending summers in Mansfield with my second family. Though always separated by miles you were always close in heart.
