Paul G. Wachter

BELLVILLE: Paul George Wachter, 96, of South Main Street, Bellville, died Sunday evening June 23, 2002, in his home following a long illness.
He was born December 22, 1905, in Chillicothe, to George and Josephine (Wagner) Wachter, was graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1923, earned his Bachelor’s degree from Ohio University, and his Master’s degree from Pittsburgh University.
Following 40 years of service with Youngstown Public Schools, Mr. Wachter retired as principal of Woodrow Wilson High School in 1967, and moved to Bellville.
He was a member of Resurrection Parish Catholic Church.
He is survived by his son Paul G. Wachter, Jr., of Huntsville, Alabama; his daughter and son-in-law Janice and William Cornwell of Lancaster; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law Martin and Mary Wachter of Chillicothe; three sisters-in-law Mable Wachter of Chillicothe, Sue Wachter of North Canton and Ramona Weaver of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Jessie (Weaver) Wachter in 1982; two brothers William Wachter and Clarence Wachter; two sisters Justina Irwin and Ann Wachter; and a daughter-in-law Vi Wachter.
Funeral services will be held Thursday June 27, 2002 at noon in t he Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, with the Rev. Father Stanley Szybka officiating. Burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 10 am until time of the service at noon.
Memorial contributions to the Jefferson Township-Bellville rescue Squad may be made at the funeral home.
