Paul Fritz DeLauder, age 70, of Lewis Center and formerly of Marion, died unexpectedly, Wednesday August 11, 2004.

He was born in Columbus, Ohio on March 19, 1934 to the late Frederick and Eleanor (Gill) DeLauder. Graduate of Linden McKinley High School Class of 1952. Paul was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. from 1952 – 1954, serving in the Korean Conflict. He was an Ohio Highway Patrol State Trooper from 1955 – 1972, Marion Deputy Sheriff from 1972 – 1977, Law Enforcement Instructor at Tri Rivers from 1977 – 1994, and a part time process server in Marion from 1994 – 2000. Member of the St. Mary Catholic Church, Delaware, and lifetime member of the V.F.W.

Paul lived in Delaware from 1957 – 1966, then resided in Marion for 33 years before returning to Delaware in 2000. He was an excellent grandfather and loyal fan to the St. Francis DeSales Football and Tennis teams.

He is survived by his Son; Michael (Zel) DeLauder of Westerville, Daughter; Paula (Warren) Martin of Roscoe, IL, Grandchildren; Andy and Kelly DeLauder.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Norma Jean (Fracasso) DeLauder on August 19, 2003, 2 Brothers, and 2 Sisters.

Friends may call Friday 6 – 9 p.m., prayer services at 6:00 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St. (SR 36), Delaware. Mass of Christian burial Saturday at 10 a.m. at the St. Mary Church, Delaware, with Father Kevin Kavanaugh celebrant. Interment will follow at Resurrection cemetery with military honors in Lewis Center.
