Paul Edward Mullen, 93, of Delaware passed away Monday evening June 13, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born October 1, 1922 in Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania to the late Stephen Michael Mullen and Florence (Francis) Mullen. He graduated from Latrobe High School and also from Dolan College of Embalming, Inc. in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1946. Paul proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during World War II. On September 23, 1946, he married Ellen Faye Wadsworth in the St. Vincent Arch Abbey in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.

Paul was head grocery clerk for Kroger’s in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for 33 years and was a former member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in New Kensington, Pennsylvania. More recently, he was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church in Delaware. He enjoyed camping, fishing and anything outdoors. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Faye; daughters Marcia Mullen and Janet (Mike) Conroy of Delaware; grandchildren Christopher (Sara) Conroy of Columbus, Laura (Jeff) Olson of Delaware and Daniel Conroy of Columbus; great grandchildren Joseph and Patrick Conroy and one great grandchild on the way; sister Jane Johnston of Latrobe, Pennsylvania; brother Charles (Theresa) Mullen of Latrobe, Pennsylvania; and his faithful canine companion Obie. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his sisters Mary Catherine and Virginia Mullen.

The family will receive friends on Thursday June 16, 2016 from 9:00 – 10:30 am at the Snyder Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive (formerly 1510 W. William Street), Delaware. A funeral mass will follow at 11:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 82 E. William Street, Delaware with Rev Fr. Michael Watson officiating. The St. Mary Bereavement Committee will then host a luncheon in the Snyder Rodman Community Room.

Contributions in Paul’s memory may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or OhioHealth Hospice.
