Paul E. Shaffer

         Paul E. Shaffer, 76, of Fredericktown was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday morning, March 21, 2017.  He was born on October 28, 1940 in Fredericktown to the late Carl and Mildred (Mowry) Shaffer.

          Paul was a faithful member of Palmyra Church of Christ.  He was a carpenter by trade and helped build many homes.  Paul was an avid sports fan, who loved the Indians and Buckeyes. Paul honorably served his country in the Army from 1959 to 1962.

          Paul is survived by his children, David (Diana) Shaffer, Kelly Shaffer and Kim Shaffer all of Fredericktown; grandchildren, Rebecca (Stephen) Lapinski, Rachel Shaffer, Christian Kopina and Cody Kopina; sisters, Elsie Roe of Kentucky and Mabel Bates of Florida; his former wife, Nancy Oliver of Mount Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.

          In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by a brother, Marion Shaffer; and a sister, Ruth Young.

          The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of a funeral service celebrating the life of Paul at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Palmyra Church of Christ, 21184 Zolman Rd., Fredericktown.  Evangelist Troy Northrop and Don Linn will officiate.  Burial will follow in North Fork Cemetery near Fredericktown.

          Memorial contributions may be made to the Palmyra Church of Christ in Paul’s memory.
