Paul E. March, 72, of Hillside Street, Mt. Gilead, Ohio died Friday, August 03, 2001 at his home.

He was born in Defiance, Ohio on Dec. 13, 1928, the son of the late Donald and Jennie Fitzwater March. He has resided here after returning from the Korean Conflict where he served in the 3rd Infantry Division of the U.S. Army, earning a Bronze Star for valor. He worked for 39 years for H.P.M. Corporation in Mt. Gilead until retiring. He was a member of the VFW Post 8054, the AmVets Post #87, and the Local 1319 I.A.M. He had also worked for the Gilead Twp. Trustees as a caretaker of Bryn Zion Cemetery.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law John L. & Adenna March of Cardington, OH; a daughter and son-in-law Judy & Richard Howard of Mt. Gilead, OH; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; three brothers Donald March of St. Marys, OH, Richard March of Defiance, OH, and Gerald March of Continental, OH; five sisters Mary Hahn of Edgerton, OH, Helen Frusher of Findlay, OH, Gladys Reinhart of Wauseon, OH, Evelyn Baker of Defiance, OH, and Joyce Schilts of Paulding, OH.

A brother Robert “Rusty” March and two sisters Vivian Ditto and Ruth Cross also preceded him in death.

Friends may call at the Craven Funeral Home in Mt. Gilead on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. Pastor Jerry Mathias will hold funeral services there Monday at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Bryn Zion Cemetery.
