Paul B. Tobin, Jr.

Mount Gilead, Ohio
Paul B. Tobin, Jr., age 52, of Mount Gilead, died Monday evening, January 5, 2009 at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born on March 18, 1956 in Morrow County, Ohio, the son of the late Paul B. and Carolyn (Goff) Tobin.
Paul graduated from Highland High School in the Class of 1974, where he served as class president and captain of the football and baseball team.
He worked as a trash collector for Quality Refuse in Mount Vernon, making many friends along his route.
A loving and caring man, Paul was very generous towards others, never meeting a stranger. His home was a revolving door for anyone who needed a place to stay.
A devoted fan, he cheered on the Highland Fighting Scots and his Ohio State Buckeyes.
He spent many lazy days fishing and wheeling and dealing at local garage sales.
Paul enjoyed country music and was considered a “karaoke king”, even if he could only blurt out every other word and the chorus.
An aficionado of all foods, he was especially fond of chicken, no bake cookies, Zero candy bars, and his absolute favorite homemade vanilla ice cream smothered in “butterscotch dope.”
Wednesday was always an important day to Paul; he could not wait to catch up on the past weeks news by reading The Morrow County Sentinel.
Paul relished in spending time with his family, most of all his grandchildren, whom all held a special place in his heart.
Paul will be dearly missed by his children and grandchildren: P.J. (Nina) Tobin and their children, Aleisa, Josh, and P.J. Tobin, all of Marengo, Candie (Kenny) Rogers and their children, Zach, Kendall, and Toby Rogers, all of Marengo, Ginny (Roy Blackwell) Tobin and their children, Michael, Jasmen, Victoria, Roy, and Daylon Blackwell and Joey Tobin, all of Columbus; a step-daughter, Tracy (Josh) Jamison and their children, Austin, Destiny, and Madison Jamison all of Richwood; three brothers: Pat (Barbara) Tobin of Mount Gilead, Tim Tobin of Peebles, Ohio, Rick (Cindy) Tobin of West Liberty, Ohio; five sisters: Paula Turner of Marion, Carol Tobin of Marysville, Sue (Terry) Cole of Mount Gilead, Sherry Atwell of Galion, Jeanne Tobin of Columbus; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Glenn and Virginia Bragg of Marengo; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Ben and Tam Grandstaff of Marengo, Bill and Robin Lupher of Frazeysburg, Alan and Judy St. Jean of Michigan Sonny and Lorie Bragg of Marengo; brother-in-law, Russ Bateman of Mount Vernon; and many nieces and nephews.
