Paul A. Smith

February 06, 1956 ‒ November 18, 2020

Lexington, Ohio

LEXINGTON: Paul A. Smith held many titles in his life. Devoted husband, loving and involved father, thoughtful son, adoring Paw-Paw to his 6 grand-children, caring brother and uncle, among many others. After battling for many months with an illness, Paul left his earthly body to be united with his heavenly Father in the early hours of November 18th, 2020.

Paul was born on February 6th, 1956 in Indiana. However, he spent most of his childhood growing up in Crestline, Ohio. This is where he met the love of his life, Lori. They were married in 1979. In 1980, they moved to Lexington, Ohio where Paul used his love of woodworking and his skill as an electrician to build and craft a log cabin home for them to grow their family. They had 3 boys and Paul spent most of his life attending his sons sporting events, using his love and skill of photography to capture their accomplishments. He was a dedicated and proud supporter of all of their life’s achievements.

Those who knew Paul best would describe him as a quiet (until you got to know him), gentle, funny, hardworking, thoughtful friend and loving person who always gave his best to those he loved. His boys remember him best for the various ways in which he instilled all of these values in them throughout their lives.

Paul is survived by his wife Lori, his mother Nedra Smith, his three sons, Brian (Kori) Smith, Craig (Whitney) Smith, Kevin (Katie) Smith, his 6 grandchildren, Ellvie, Harper, Palmer, Arbor, Roman and Sawyer, his niece Jana (Nick) Immel, and nephew Brett (Shannon) Smith. He is preceded in death by his brother Jon Smith and father Aley Smith.

A private family memorial will be held in his honor. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make contributions in Pauls’ memory may make monetary donations to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
