A Home Going Service, celebrating the life of Patricia Price Matthews, 83, of Delaware, will be held Saturday, February 2 at Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center at West William Street in Delaware, Ohio 43015. Burial will proceed at Kingwood Memorial Park, 8230 Columbus Pike, Lewis Center, Ohio 43035 on Monday, February 4, at 10:00 AM.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 2nd from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Dr. at W. William Street, Delaware, Ohio, where services will follow on Saturday, February 2nd from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM. Pastor Robert Whitner Jr. will officiate.
Patricia was born in Newark, Ohio on April 10, 1935 to the late Thelma Louise (Garrison) Price and Leonard E. Price. Patricia passed away at the Arbors Nursing Home in Delaware, Ohio on January 28, 2019. She is survived by her husband Robert Lee Matthews. They have been married 45 years.
Patricia worked many years prior to retirement. She worked for Professor William Preston in Granville for years, was also a volunteer teacher assistant at Kettering Elementary School in Newark, Ohio and subsequently worked at Delaware Court Nursing Home in Delaware. Patricia was very active in her church at,” Victory Seventh Day Adventist Church. She enjoyed family and friends and especially was involved and a proud mother and grandmother as she and her husband Robert Lee raised their three sons and watched their grandchildren grow up. Her hobbies were reading, gardening, completing word puzzles, crocheting and macramé.
Her surviving children are Dr. Anthony Lee Price of Milledgeville, Georgia (Dr. Noris Price) Mr. Victor Charles Price of Tampa, Florida (Ms. Jenie Price) and Mr. Edwin Lance Matthews of Pickerington, Ohio (Ms. Briana Matthews). Her grandchildren are, Juan Carlos Price of San Antonio, Texas, Jordan Daniel Price of Clearwater, Florida, Benjamin Harper Price of Lakeland, Florida, Lance Tyler Matthews and Kennedy Taylor Matthews who both reside in Pickerington, Ohio. Patricia has numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Besides her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her siblings, Samuel Price, Ruth Thompson, Betty Langford, Mary Price, Vincent Price and Benjamin Price.
