Patricia Ann Lotz Charles

July 25, 1932 ‒ November 30, 2017

Fredericktown, Ohio

Patricia Ann Lotz Charles (Pat), 85, went to her heavenly reward on November 30, 2017. She was in peace, without pain and in the presence and love of her family. Pat was born to Neva (Yarman) Lotz and Charles Lotz on July 25, 1932.

A Palmyra resident since birth, Pat was raised with her 8 siblings on the farm next door to her current home on Rt. 13, just two doors away from Palmyra Church of Christ. As a lifelong member of that church, Pat served as a Sunday school teacher and as a custodian for 34 years. Pat was an extraordinary wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, friend, neighbor, co-worker and colleague.

She was a member of the Fredericktown High School Class of 1950. Pat was employed as a cook for 40 years in the Fredericktown School System, where she touched many lives.

She baked amazing Christmas cookies that she loved to share with family and friends. She also loved to garden, planting beautiful flowers each spring for the enjoyment of all. Pat never met a stranger and loved to talk. She was a great caretaker and always had a soft spot in her heart for those in need of some extra love and attention.

Pat is survived by her husband, Paul, whom she met at the Bellville Street Fair on September 15, 1947, and married on August 27, 1949. These sweethearts were married for 68 years. Also surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, William P. Charles (wife, Pattie Purdy Charles), and a daughter and son-in-law, Lori K. (Charles) Cramer (husband, Seth M. Cramer), all of Worthington, Ohio; a sister, Donna L. Beal, of Butler; a brother, Larry D. Lotz, of Bellville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by: an infant daughter, Sondra Sue Charles, four brothers: Gerald Lotz, Charles L. Lotz, Richard Lotz, and James T. Lotz; and two sisters, Eileen (Lotz) Lifer and Norma Jean (Lotz) Lester.

Services will be held Tuesday, December 5th, 10:30am, at the Palmyra Church of Christ, 21184 Zolman Road, Fredericktown. Calling hours will be held Monday, December 4th, 4:00pm -8:00pm, at the same location.

Memorial contributions may be made to Fredericktown Senior  Center, c/o Wilma Pritchard, 130 Tuttle Ave., Fredericktown, OH 43019 or World Missionary Evangelism, P.O. Box 660800, Dallas, TX 75266.
